HMO Landlady fell into the world of letting houses out on a room by room basis back in 2007. I’ve made lots of mistakes, unintentionally fallen foul of the law on the odd occasion, been taken for a complete ride by some tenants and wondered what the hell I was doing most the time!

I manage the ongoing needs of 35 tenants across 7 houses, am partner in a letting agency for single let properties, write and provide advice to fellow HMO landlords. In addition, I’ve been given the remit by Landlord Law to organise and host their legal workshops in the South and South East.

I began writing after realising many HMO landlords focus on yield and fail to see the realities of HMO ownership until too late and hope some of my experiences help them to find solutions to their own issues.
